Day 1
- Chambar
- Grouse Mountain
- Kaide Sushi
- Grandville Island Market
Breakfast at Chambar was excellent – tiny waffles with exquisite dipping sauces.
You can go skiing at Grouse Mountain but you can also eat at the resort and just enjoy the view. It’s expensive to go up the lift but worth it. Only 20 minutes outside of downtown.
Kaide sushi was the best I’ve ever had.
There’s a brewery and amazing market at Grandville Island. Grab some snacks or food for your stay, and there are little shops and a mall down there as well. Nothing feels commercialized.
Day 2
- Stanley Park
- Gastown
- Alibi Room
- Rogers Arena
Stanley Park warrants a full day. You can drive around the park, take a bus tour, and hike or bike the trails in the park. Beautiful area, right in the middle of Vancouver Harbor.
Gastown is a neat area to shop and walk around, very close to the market and 10 minutes from Stanley Park. Would avoid at night, however.
A great place to go before a hockey game is the Alibi Room. You can tell them a beer you like and they’ll make a flight for you with similar suggestions. Going to an NHL game at Rogers Arena was a lot of fun, and tickets were reasonably priced.
Although Vancouver is pretty large, it’s very easy to get around. Driving wasn’t a pain at all.
